Aero C-103 (Siebel Si 204)

The war ended, but the production of “Siebels” did not stop. In already liberated Czechoslovakia, the Aero factory continued to assemble them. They were manufactured there until 1950, producing an additional 179 aircraft. The first two machines were delivered to new customers as early as June 1945.

Civil Modifications and Crew

These were the C-103 C passenger aircraft, featuring a seven-seat cabin. The crew consisted of two pilots and a radio operator. Later, two more civil modifications appeared: the C-103B with six seats in a more comfortable cabin, and the C-103A for nine passengers with a single pilot.

Post-War Service and Retirement

These aircraft were operated alongside captured Si-204D models, initially by the “military transport department” and subsequently by the “Československé aerolinie” company. The C-103s exclusively served domestic routes, connecting Prague with Karlovy Vary, Olomouc, Ostrava, and České Budějovice. From 1948, they were gradually decommissioned or transferred to departmental aviation.

Some of them were converted into postal, agricultural, and forest protection aircraft. The last C-103 of “Československé aerolinie” remained in service until 1951.
