Bimax

The Bimax is a light multi-purpose aircraft, developed by the French engineer Patrice Houdé from Reichshoffen. It was first introduced to the public in September 2010, marking its debut in the aviation world.

Design and Propulsion

This two-seater aircraft features a cantilever low-wing monoplane design. It is primarily powered by a four-cylinder Rotax 912UL piston engine, delivering 80 hp (60 kW). Alternative powerplants include a 65 hp Rotax 582, a 100 hp Rotax 912ULS, or engines from other manufacturers ranging from 65 to 100 hp.

Key Features and Construction

The crew’s seats are arranged in a tandem configuration within the cockpit, optimizing space and visibility. The Bimax is equipped with a fixed tricycle landing gear, complete with a tail wheel. A notable design element for ease of transport is its removable wings.

Availability and Pricing

The aircraft is available either as blueprint kits for self-assembly by enthusiasts or as a fully assembled finished product. In 2015, the cost of an assembled Bimax was approximately 57,000 euros, providing an accessible option for personal aviation.
