CC-150 Polaris

Development and Purpose

The CC-150 Polaris is a multi-purpose transport aircraft, developed by the Airbus Industries consortium for the Royal Canadian Air Force. This aircraft is built on the base of the commercial airliner Airbus A310.

Versatile Configurations

The CC-150 is intended to replace the Boeing 707 and CC-130 Hercules transport aircraft. It is produced in two main configurations: a passenger version, which can transport up to 194 armed soldiers or 202 passengers, and a cargo version, capable of carrying up to 14,770 kg of freight.

Operational Deployment

A total of five aircraft were ordered and delivered. They began entering service with the 8th Squadron of the RCAF starting in 1992.
